The New Year is beginning with a change of management at the Christmasworld and Hair and Beauty trade fairs. Now, with Eva Olbrich (52) and Christiane Walter (46), at the helm, the two consumer-goods fairs are driven by girl power and extensive experience in the world of fairs and exhibitions.
On 1 February 2011, Eva Olbrich, Director of Hair and Beauty and the Beautyworld brand, will take over as Director of Christmasworld from Jutta Baumann (64) who is retiring after 24 successful years with Messe Frankfurt. She has been Director of Christmasworld since 2002 and has played a decisive role in its highly successful development.
“I am looking forward very much to the challenge of assuming responsibility for the world’s leading trade fair for the festive decoration sector”, says Eva Olbrich, who was involved with the development and expansion of Beautyworld from the very first – since 2002 as Director, with responsibility for brand-management coming later. She has also been in charge of Hair and Beauty since 2006. The economic and competitive landscape in which these two beauty fairs are held is still difficult. However, Eva Olbrich has worked successfully there for many years. A graduate translator, she came to Messe Frankfurt in 1988 and began her career with the fair and exhibition company as a sales officer for the company’s consumer-goods fairs.
The new Director of Hair and Beauty is Christiane Walter. She has worked for Messe Frankfurt in a variety of positions since 1994 – from market-research specialist, via management assistant, to several managerial positions for the consumer-goods fairs. She was given responsibility for the brand development of Beautyworld, Christmasworld and Paperworld in 2007. Most recently, she ran the VIP customer programme for Beautyworld and Paperworld. She takes over from Eva Olbrich as Director of Hair and Beauty at the beginning of February 2011.
“Following this perfect hand-over by Eva Olbrich, I am looking forward to building on the concept of Hair and Beauty and positioning the event successfully in the future, too”, says Christiane Walter, a graduate in business administration who also has an MA in Applied European Studies (London).
