Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmetics – Xavier Ormancey appointed Director of Research and Development. The Pierre Fabre Group has announced the appointment of Xavier Ormancey to the position of Director of Research and Development for Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmetics (PFDC). He reports to Núria Perez-Cullel, CEO of PFDC, and will seat on PFDC Executive Commitee.

Operating experience in R&D positions

A graduate of the National School of Chemistry in Montpellier (ENSCM), Xavier Ormancey, aged 54, began his career in 1988 with the L’Oréal group, as Perfumer. In 1991, he joined Chanel Parfums & Beauté where he successively held the positions of Laboratory Manager in the perfume creation studio on the Sophia-Antipolis site, Scientific Spokesperson, Director of Supply Chain Sustainable Development, and Director of the Cosmetics Research Center from 1998 to 2010. In 2011, he joined the Yves Rocher group as Research and Development Director. From 2016, Xavier Ormancey was Director of Product Development and member of the Executive Committee at the California-based American cosmetics company, Counter Brands LLC.

Based at the PFDC R&D center in Toulouse, Xavier Ormancey will be responsible for implementing the Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmetics innovation strategy. As the head of an organization consisting of some 330 employees based in six laboratories across France, Japan and Brazil, he will be able to make full use of the Group’s wide-ranging expertise in the field of dermo-cosmetics R&D, particularly in such areas as plant-based active ingredients, dermatology hydrotherapy, formulations, biotechnologies, cellular and skin modeling, knowledge of microbiota and sterile cosmetics.

In 2017, Pierre Fabre invested over €60 million in dermo-cosmetics R&D, the equivalent of 4.5% of the branch’s total net sales.
