Müller opens flagship store in Budapest – a new milestone in the prestige sector
On November 28, 2020, Müller, the well-known retail group, celebrated the opening of an impressive flagship store in Budapest Prestige. The building is centrally located in the old town, at the junction of Váci Street and Régi Posta in the 5th district, not far from Szervita Square. With this new location, the company is not only focusing on an extensive range of products, but also on an appealing and modern shopping experience.
Spacious sales areas and a wide range of products
The new Müller store extends over three floors with a total sales area of 2,841 square meters. Barrier-free escalators and elevators allow customers to access all floors comfortably. With a range of 66,000 items, from drugstore and perfumery products to toys, household goods and multimedia, Müller covers the diverse needs of its customers.
Newly developed luxury perfumery in a 150-square-meter space
Particularly noteworthy is the newly developed luxury perfumery, which has been created in a 150-square-meter space. According to Elke Menold, a member of Müller’s management team, this area is designed to provide an elegant ambience and a suitable setting for the presentation of international niche brands. The exclusive brands presented in this area include “Les Destinations”, “4711 Acqua Colonia Collection Absolue”, “Lalique” and “Juliette has a Gun”. Company founder Erwin Müller commented on the opening: “From the very beginning, our goal was to combine variety, quality and service under one roof.” This underlines the company’s philosophy of offering customers a modern and high-quality shopping experience.
Müller: flagship store in Budapest strengthens market presence
Müller has been in the retail business for over 70 years and has grown to become one of Europe’s leading retailers, with more than 940 stores in eight countries. With around 35,500 employees and 850 apprentices, the company offers a wide range of products, available both in-store and online. The opening of the flagship store in Budapest strengthens Müller’s market presence, following the opening of its first store in Hungary 17 years ago. Today, the company operates 34 locations in the country.
Architecture as the focus of the new flagship store
The Budapest Prestige, designed by Ankner Buchholz Architects of Ulm, combines historical elements with contemporary architecture. The façade, made of Croatian limestone, is decorated with traditional stylistic elements and is particularly highlighted by sophisticated lighting. In addition to the Müller branch, the building houses 40 exclusive apartments and terraces offering views of the Danube and the Buda Hills. Erwin Müller emphasizes that the aim was not just to build a shopping center, but to create a building that complements the architectural landscape of Budapest while also setting modern accents.
