As of October 2011 Masaki Douzono (47) holds the post of President of Shiseido Deutschland GmbH in Düsseldorf. The specialist in financial affairs and corporate planning has worked for the Japanese cosmetics company for 24 years.
Before moving to Germany he was General Manager of the Finance Department at the Tokyo headquarters. In his new position he is responsible not only for business in Germany, but also for other European markets.
“It is very exciting for me to head a company which, in its 30-year history, has become a European leader”, Masaki Douzono said. “I will strive to make the Shiseido
group’s products and services even more popular among consumers and thus to further enhance our market position. Even in the difficult economic conditions of the
last few years, Shiseido has held its own admirably. My aim is to maintain this level of success and consolidate it in the long term.“
Shiseido Co. Ltd, based in Tokyo, is one of the largest cosmetics groups in the world. In 1980 the company entered the German market, founding Shiseido Deutschland
GmbH in Düsseldorf. Since 1995 it has been based at the Kai Center in the city’s Medienhafen business district, employing some 211 members of staff on site and in
field sales. Masaki Douzono runs the company along with Vice President and Managing Director Andreas Sistig.
Shiseido Deutschland GmbH has grown to become Shiseido’s central hub in Europe. Since 1997 it has been responsible for the markets in Hungary and the Czech Republic, and since 2000 for Slovakia. The branches in Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland also belong to Shiseido Deutschland GmbH. Moreover, Shiseido Germany manages European logistics for Shiseido products at the European Distribution Center in Duisburg. As well as the global Shiseido brand, the group’s portfolio for Europe also includes the luxury cosmetics brands Carita, Decléor and Serge Lutens.
